We Stand With Survivors
The young woman at the center of the Cornell 7 sexual assault allegations has shown extraordinary courage by coming forward and demanding accountability, but her story is not an isolated one. Every day, women and girls experience sexual violence, and far too many suffer in silence out of fear of retaliation, humiliation, disbelief, or being failed by the very institutions meant to protect them.
We commend her for standing up and fighting back, but we also recognize the countless survivors who have never felt safe enough to speak. Their silence does not make their suffering any less real, nor does it make them any less courageous.
To every survivor of sexual assault: We see you. We hear you. We stand with you.
Your dignity is not negotiable. Your voice matters, and you deserve justice.
